Fonts of the week
A look at the previous week in fonts. Many great releases by some of the heavyweight foundries.
FF Hertz is a typeface designed by FontFont with 12 styles from Light to Extra Bold.
Gill Sans Nova
The Gill Sans® Nova typeface, by Monotype Studio designer George Ryan, expands the much-loved Gill Sans family from 18 to 43 fonts and features a coordinated range of roman and condensed designs. Several new display fonts are available, including a suite of six inline weights, shadowed outline fonts that were never digitized and Gill Sans Nova Deco that was previously withdrawn from the Monotype library.
Maxima Now Pro
The sans serif linear antiqua Maxima which was created in the beginning of the sixties by Prof. Gert Wunderlich for Typoart Dresden, was newly actualized in 2007 after more than 45 years. Many hands and heads were involved in the successful re-design of Maxima Now over a period of two years to assist the designers of the Elsner+Flake Design Studios in Hamburg, and the typeface family is now available. The re-design happened in close cooperation with Wunderlich who has given support to numerous projects in Elsner+Flake‘s studio in Hamburg.
FF Real Head
Designed by Erik Spiekerman and his team at FontFont, this gorgeous sans-serif font is perfect for all tasks that need high-legibility like signage or websites.
Jacuzzi Room is a cheery script font inspired by the ubiquitous Beverly Hills Hotel sign, capturing the same gestural yet timeless quality.
The Siggy typeface family has all the traits of a serious serif typeface, but with a little wobble. Originally created as a display typeface, this family of fonts contains 4 styles that allow varied and clear compositions in both text or display settings.
